Introduction to Ark

The Ark package is a KF5 archive tool. It is a graphical front end to tar and similar tools.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS-10.0 platform.

Installation of Ark

First, fix a problem identified upstream: 

patch -Np1 -i ../ark-20.08.0-upstream_fix-1.patch

Install Ark by running the following commands: 

mkdir build &&
cd    build &&

cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=$KF5_PREFIX \
      -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release         \
      -DBUILD_TESTING=OFF                \
      -Wno-dev .. &&
make

This package does not come with a test suite.

Now, as the root user: 

make install

Installed Programs: ark and arkprofile
Installed Libraries: libkdeinit5_ark.so and libarkprivate.so
Installed Directories: $KF5_PREFIX/share/doc/HTML/*/ark, $KF5_PREFIX/share/ark, and $KF5_PREFIX/share/kxmlgui5/ark

Short Descriptions

ark

is an X terminal emulation which provides a command-line interface.

arkprofile

is a command-line tool to change the current tab's profile options.
